Blacktown Aeromodellers Club Inc. Invitational Fly-In 2015

Thanks to all who attended on the day, the weather was made to order with no major mishaps other than a couple of foamies going in. Parking was difficult at times but it was definitely manageable & today we also proved that us flyers can make just as much noise as the clay shooters! A few lucky pilots walked away with prizes & those who didn’t picked something up from the car boot sale on the day.

We would like to thank everyone that volunteered their time to help make the event a success.

Camden Scale Competition (Feb 2015)

Despite poor weather on both days it turned out to be perfect flying weather in between showers. Overall was an enjoyable weekend, with thanks to those that attended the dinner on Saturday night.

2014 NSW State Titles – F4C/F4H/Open

The weather prediction of rain for the Saturday did not happen and despite threatening for most of the day it turned out to be perfect flying weather. Numbers were down due to the earlier weather forecast and Sunday was completely washed out. Luckily 2 flights by each pilot was enough for a score and a result on the Saturday. Once again there were Blacktown members competing.

Taree Large Scale Championship (2014)

Taree Club hosted the 2014 NSW Large Scale Champs what turned out to be perfect weather for 2 the days of flying except a annoying cross wind on Saturday that kept each pilot working at their take offs and landings as there is only one strip but luckily no mishaps with the big birds. The club is just outside Wingham where they share the facility with the local shooting club. The clay pigeon target shooting though a little unnerving when flying proved that the 2 disciplines can easily coexist. The event was well attended by Blacktown members with Robert Zyp taking out 2nd place with his very large nicely presented Gypsy Moth.

Wagga Model Aero Club WW1, WW2 and Military Scale Competition (2014)

Wagga Model Aero Club 2014 WW1, WW2 and Military Scale Competition ANZAC weekend was patronized well by BAC members with made to order weather all weekend with just a little wind here and there. Stand out from the event would have had to have been Anthony Ogles 60cc Corsair running a 7 cylinder radial – which has been stripped, glassed and repainted.

BAC’s Final Weekend At Doonside Field

After 26 years at Doonside a chapter closes. Over the weekend we took some photos of the working bee day on Saturday clearing our rubbish, and then of members enjoying the nice weather on Sunday for our a last fly there. We will keep members posted as a new chapter begins at our new site.
